Here all member character development takes place. Each member with at least one approved character can request an individual subforum for all of their plotting, thread tracking and character development needs from character journals to timelines to one shots. This has replaced the plotting, codices and thread tracker forums Unbound previously utilized in an effort to give every member a space to call their own.

The Anderfels is a kingdom in northwestern Thedas. The Anderfels is best known for being the birthplace of the Grey Wardens and the site of their headquarters, Weisshaupt Fortress. Geographically, the Anderfels consists mostly of steppes, largely deserted after weathering the most severe Blights. The capital is Hossberg, located northwest from Weisshaupt. The area is bordered by the Wandering Hills and the Donarks to the North; the Colean Sea to the East, and the Tevinter Imperium to the Southeast.

Antiva is a plutocratic nation in north eastern Thedas. Although it possesses few resources of its own, Antiva's location makes it a center for trade in the north. Antiva's wine trade, buoyed by its fruitful vineyards and an aggressive approach to trading practices with other nations, is one of the country's main resources, allowing for a relatively prosperous life for its citizens. Its capital is Antiva City, which lies on the middle of its coastline and is one of the wealthiest in Thedas.

Ferelden is a relatively young kingdom located in southeastern Thedas. It was formed by King Calenhad nearly four hundred years before the start of the Fifth Blight by uniting Alamarri clans. Ferelden has been ruled by Queen Anora Theirin for the last eleven years, surviving the death of King Maric at the start of the Fifth Blight. Within Ferelden, the Hinterlands have become a battleground in recent years for mages and templars in the area, and was home (until recently) to the home of the Inquisition in Haven.

The Free Marches is not a kingdom, but a collection of city states in eastern Thedas. There are three cities with some recognizable power in the Marches: Kirkwall, Starkhaven and Tantervale. Each city is led by a titled official with a privilege to name their own Champion. With the collapse of the Chantry in Kirkwall in 9:37 Dragon, Starkhaven (led by the surviving Prince Sebastian Vael) began amassing forces to retaliate against Kirkwall for the death of Grand Cleric Elthina.

West of the Free Marches, Nevarra is situated in the dry land of central Thedas. Originally one of the larger Free Marches city-states, Nevarra became a proper nation during the Exalted Age. It's vast wealth and central location make it a worthy rival to the Orlesian Empire. The Imperial Highway crosses Nevarra from the Silent Plains to Cumberland and onward into Orlais, making it a rich crossroads for trade and travel.

Orlais, or the Orlesian Empire, has been the largest and most powerful nation in all of Thedas for more than a century. Orlais is famous not only for it's wealth and power but also it's extravagant culture. Unrest currently sits in the heart of Orlais, starting in the years leading up to the Mage-Templar war and most recently culminating in the War of the Lions and the rebellion of Halamshiral.

Rivain is located in the northeastern part of Thedas. Its capital is Dairsmuid, sitting on southern end of the peninsula. It is almost wholly surrounded by water except for a bridge of land connecting it to Antiva. Llomerryn is a politically neutral port city on an island off the southern tip of Rivain. It's famous for being the location in which the Llomerryn Accords were signed, ending the Qunari Wars and Exalted Marches. The city is a favored base for pirates and criminals and its bazaars often peddle stolen goods.

The Tevinter Imperium is the longest existing human country in Thedas and is ruled by a powerful magocracy. The leaders of the Imperium are called magisters, and are led by the Imperial Archon. In ancient times, the Imperium's power was unrivaled and its borders stretched across nearly the entire continent. In modern times however, Tevinter is a shadow of its former self in both size and power, though it is still relatively powerful.

The realm of Thedas is not strictly limited to the nations of man. Beyond its shores lie the isle of Seheron. Miles under the earth sprawl the lost thaigs of the dwarves and the darkspawn infested Deep Roads. The realm of spirits and demons, the Fade, where all men and elves dream. And the vast waters that connect them all.

Looking to turn back the sands of time and revisit Thedas in much...simpler times? Well, maybe not so simple, but with considerably less demons pouring from the sky. The past forum is where any threads taking place before the current Inquisition timeline may be written out.

Sometimes we need a break from the same old setting. Want to experience your characters in a land (or galaxy) far, far away from Thedas? Threads written in Alternate Universes are not considered board canon, instead they are strictly for fun. Play with characters who might not have the opportunity to mingle under normal circumstances or indulge in a guilty crackship. We don't mind!
