Guest Welcome guest!

Here on Unbound, our plot follows four different timelines, set throughout the canonical history of the Dragon Age. The events following Trespasser, the time of the Inquisition, the rise of the Champion of Kirkwall and the quest of the Warden against the Fifth Blight.

And So is the Golden City blackened
With each step you take in my Hall.
Marvel at perfection, for it is fleeting.
You have brought Sin to Heaven
And doom upon all the world.

ANNOUNCEMENT #36Happy April, Unbound! It's been three months since we underwent our 2017 update and we're happy to see how well-received the changes have been. Last week we put out a survey asking for your feedback and to feel out some new features we were looking to incorporate, so the following announcement will be our follow-up to that survey. Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to give us their thoughts. It's been so wonderful to hear what we've been doing right and helpful to know where we can improve.the timelines & new subplotsOne of the biggest concerns of the staff was how well received and executed the four timelines were with our current member base. Thanks to the survey we're confident that this was a positive change and are taking steps to answer your request for more direction by introducing subplots.Subplots will be smaller plots that do not directly tie into the exploits of the Warden, Hawke or Inquisitor. Some questlines may be loosely connected or in reaction to their decisions or actions but are not reliant on them for participation. There will be a number of long-running subplots, which will be outlined in the main plot page to follow its progress, but we will also be including shorter subplots that could tie into other aspects of the plot later in the form of War Table plots. War Table plots will earn rewards like sovereigns, perks or plot related items that might be of use or required for progression of one of another subplot. A good way to think of this is like a tabletop game (in fact, many missions will be very reminiscent of classic table top quests), but without the need to roll for checks/hit points/etc. This will hopefully satisfy the request for more direction in the plot going forward, while also giving fun and exciting ways to earn more sovereigns and rewards for your characters. In addition, we will be taking steps to flesh out the world state of the older timelines for easy & achievementsWe have also gotten a lot of positive feedback about the shop and achievement system, but with a lot of requests to see it be made more prominent and useful across the game. It's our hope that by creating these new subplots and War Table missions, that will sometimes require items or spells to progress and thus earn more rewards, we will give more relevancy to the shop. We will also be taking a closer look at our achievements and adjusting them to support these new additions, as well as removing any that might now be obsolete.the skin & organizationSome changes will be made to the skin and the organization of it. Most prominently would be the addition of alternate skin themes to reflect the different timelines. While the bones of everything will stay the same there will a better variety of tones and color to hopefully mix it up a bit.Links in our topbar have also been updated and made more clear. Links to templates, want ads and the main plot have been provided and the application link moved to sit at the top for easy clicking. We've also gone through and cleaned up some of the information threads that were outdated and moved others better suited elsewhere. The War Table template has been reformatted and included on the how-to guide for easy access. discord etiquette & new channelWe know that the board has been slow as of late what with real life obligations and circumstances preventing many of us from being able to hope online, post, and plot like usual. Life is always unpredictable, often stressful, and we always want to encourage people to share what's going on in their lives and seek support if needed. We are a community after all and want to continue to nurture that in any way we can. However, having said that, it's become obvious to the staff and other members that there has been an excessive amount of negativity permeating the Discord chat lately. Again, we understand the need to let off some steam now and again (the staff has many things going on behind the scenes in their personal lives as well), but it's gotten to the point where it seems to be all that's discussed and is creating what we believe to be an off-putting atmosphere for not only members, but also guests who see our general chat by default when they join Discord. To help give us an outlet for our daily frustrations, we are going to be adding a new channel to Discord dedicated to it. The Vent channel. It's our hope that this will still provide a safe, comfortable outlet to express ourselves when life hands us lemons but to also allow those who do not particularly want to be greeted with it every time they log in to avoid it, if necessary. It's our hope that with this change we can keep our general chat a welcoming, positive place where members and guests can chat and relax.activityWith the acknowledgment that this is a slow time for us and that real life is hitting many of us hard right now between school and work and health, we would like to remind everyone that even though we understand we are still enforcing activity requirements for all characters. As always this can be avoided with a post in the departures thread, letting us know when you expect to be back to normal (any posts without a return date will be an assumed 30 days return), so while you may mention something offhand in the chat or talk to one staff member privately, please take the time to post in the departures, so everyone is on the same page and nothing gets lost in the shuffle. conclusionAgain, thank you so much for your feedback and patience with us during this slow time! We appreciate everyone who's stuck with us and can't wait to see where we all go from here.To let us know you've read this announcement, please reply to this thread with your favorite funny video! Thanks!— the Unbound Staff

So I have been through a few of the items on the list already, and I'm still looking forward to more War Table/Mission style threads. It's a great way to put characters together that don't run in quite the same circles the rest of the time, and write adventures.

I don't really have a favorite funny video tho. May I instead offer something fun that I was recently linked to?
