UNBOUNDHere on Unbound, our plot follows four different timelines, set throughout the canonical history of the Dragon Age. The events following Trespasser, the time of the Inquisition, the rise of the Champion of Kirkwall and the quest of the Warden against the Fifth Blight.
And So is the Golden City blackened
With each step you take in my Hall.
Marvel at perfection, for it is fleeting.
You have brought Sin to Heaven
And doom upon all the world.

My name is NNNG and I’m old as balls around these parts. I’m back again with this absolute weapon of a character, we’re both a little older and further set in our dickish ways so, bad luck for you guyz.
Neassa is an Ex-Seeker currently wanted for war crimes during both the rise of the Champion of Kirkwall and that whole debaucle with the Inquisition. Ever since spending some time as a guest of the Inquisition in their dungeons, she’s written off everything to do with serving anyone’s interests but her own (officially, this time). The Chantry can go fuck itself, the Rebellion can do the same but with more magic if it suits them, she doesn’t care.
She’s been existing off of her ability to wreak havoc, putting her skills to serving as a sword for hire under the contract of any number of evil-doers, as long as there’s coin in her pocket at the end of the day, she’ll kill whoever you need killed.
That’s not to say she’ll do so without question, Neassa is always contrary, even if she agrees with you. She just likes to be difficult, but you knew that already, and if you didn’t? You’ll learn.
Her current goal is simple, maintain her freedom via further avoiding the grasp of The Seekers and building up her very own Mercs for Hire group, the name of which she’s still working on.
In her Seeker years, she may have made a name for herself so she likes to work under a variety of childish aliases.
She doesn’t have any. The closest she gets is a mutual understanding, Neassa has difficulty trusting anyone and relies only on herself. It would be a lie to say she’s never had a friendly moment with another in all her life, she hasn’t always been as prickly and there can even be those out there who like her hard exterior. Neassa has survived as an outlaw for some time, avoiding capture because there are people who are willing to lie for her. Generally, she uses taverns and inns, even the odd brothel as a hiding place, the proprieters of which are usually indebted to her in some way or another.
For most, having her around means there’s always a heavy in place in case shit goes south, they just have to give her a room and a tab to keep her happy.
As a connoisseur of ill feelings, she’ll have no shortage of these. Neassa likes them mean, the meaner the better. She’s a dog with a bone for the people the rub her the wrong way, she will literally hunt you to the end of the earth just to spit in your eye. Always has to have the last word, as petty as she is unforgiving, these are the people she holds in the dark corners of her heart. They mean more to her than anything else purely because they made her feel something once.
Oh yah, and she hates mages. As a Seeker, she specialised in hunting apostates and the unsanctioned slaughter of a bunch of Tranquil during the Qunari invasion is listed among her war crimes, if not the main feature.
Since dropping her Seeker title and becoming a Merc, she’s had to work alongside mages so her tolerance has improved. She now needs more than one reason to kill a mage, she needs you to fuck up in some other way before she’ll move mountains to put you in the dirt.
Who could love a natural disaster such as she?
Neassa is the sort not to recognise love until years later, she spends so much of her own time and energy on being angry that she almost always misses any other sort of moment. Love is very much a slow burn for someone like her, she is habitually impulsive in every other way besides where she places her heart.
It’s tough, especially considering she has no respect for anyone unless they spend their whole lives earning it from her.
Honor wants to know how many hours you gotta put in to get arms like that. Also... can she touch them? And then maybe she just needs to hold them for a little bit. You know, just so she can remember what it's like to have two good strong arms.
You know what's funny, in this post-Solas, Honor on her own kind of world, someone like Neassa wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing to have around. She's capable of charisma, she's strong and she knows how to take care of herself. All the sorts of things Honor needs in an accomplice these days. If you're up for it, she could really use someone that might feed her any information about Solas she might come across while she's doing... whatever it is she does.
The beauty about it is that Honor doesn't have the time or inclination to care anymore about what someone like Neassa does the rest of the time. She's angry and focused and all she cares about is stopping Solas. So someone ruthless, unpredictable and human is just the kind of person she needs.
Her secret is of course punching mages in the face and a strict diet of bad behaviour. Also, having two arms really helps.
She will be jealous of Honor’s new found ability to lie on her side without crushing her own arm. So, silver linings and all that. I actually haven't played Trespasser or any of the dai dlc actually so I'm foggy on the details but I imagine Neassa would also prefer her in this new post Inquisition world.
They might actually get along now that Honor doesn't have a couple of chantry fangirls on each of her shoulders. I imagine Honor must be pretty mad so having someone like Neassa around could either be toxic or cathartic for her.
I would loooove for them to meet innocuously and Neassa immediately goes on the offensive before realising Honor actually couldn't care less about Neassa's crimes. Or maybe have Honor waiting to meet someone with info on Solas and here comes this piece of shit and it's just a huge disappointment for both of them.
While I'm not there yet, I'm working towards getting Cassie her Knight Enchanter secondary spec, so Cassie's going to need to learn how to swing a sword. Maybe she ropes Neassa in to teach her, since she's feeding and boarding her while she's at the Keep? Also I just want to see Neassa's reaction to Cassie with a sword XD
Glad you're back, let's get these two back into the swing of things... pun unintended.
<3 !!! We can definitely do that once Cassie has levelled up.
I do have a question for you though, would Cassie have been a little miffed about Neassa just up and vanishing in the night mid lyrium recovery? I've decided that's what she did. Without the lyrium keeping her steeped in rage 5ever, Neassa would have rediscovered other emotions that had been neglected until then. So yeah, she ran away rather than deal with feelings because she had enough screwing her up already.
She left without any word and has stayed gone ever since. Cassie is probably used to her dropping in and out of her life but given it's been so long and the fact Neassa left before she was fully recovered, there could be good reason to be mad.
So potential for a tense (more than usual) reunion. I think it would take a lot for Neassa to actually seek Cassie out after being estranged for so long, so having them run into each other by chance would be better first.
Idk how often Cassie actually leaves the Keep though, or what it would take for her to be roaming about outside its walls but it'd be a good throwback to their first thread with the fake then not fake Dark Spawn attack.
And yeah, Cassie would be ticked off. Especially since she probably spent a whole day searching the Keep for her before realising she'd left left, rather than simply getting lost on the way to the front door/trying to break into the lyrium stores then doing a runner.
As for how they'd meet again, Cassie tends to lead from the front when she can - any Darkspawn report large enough, or something that requires a lot of magical power and/or finesse (blocking up a cave-in-caused entrance to the Deep Roads, for example) and she'd be out there. Bit like Duncan XD
Given Neassa is now a merc leader, perhaps a new route to the Deep Roads has opened up and her team has been hired/decided to see if there's any loot worth having down there. Cassie turns up to close the damn thing only to realise there's a group of looters in there, and she goes in to turf them out/meets them at the entrance. Cue realising it's Neassa and being Very Grumpy. Also, chance for darkspawn, just like their first thread XD
Lemme know if that works for you, if not we can hash out something else :)
Maybe after Neassa passes on whatever info she's got, Honor could ask her to go out and investigate, check up on some enclave of naughty elves in need of a beatdown.
That sounds perfect tbh.
Arguing while killing darkspawn is very typical of them.
Guessing this would be in Nevarra? Neassa will be thankful for the distraction, it'll surely keep Cassie from getting too mad (I doubt it). I can see Neassa and her band of misfits getting into a bit of bother after some amatuer tomb raiding gone wrong and being pinned down by a bunch of angry Darkspawn because Neassa refuses to give up on and leave behind what she stole after all the effort she's gone to.
Are you up for starting it or should I?
I don't think Neassa and cute have ever been in the same sentence before now. Don't go telling her that to her face unless you want her to spit out whatever she's drinking at the time right in your face.
Being the type to hold a grudge, it's unlikely Neassa would give up whatever information she had easily, not until she got some sort of reparations for that stint in Skyholds dungeons, so Honor might be set to be more annoyed rather than entertained.
So is Honor gonna ask her to go investigate or hire her? Doesn't matter really, Neassa will treat it like a jerb. Oh and if Honor is looking to get back into the Merc business herself, Neassa is putting a crew together, name TBA when I finish the want ad. Neassa would love to go around saying her crew is tried and tested by the Inquisitor.
Neassa can be anywhere she needs to be bby grill so lemme know when/where suits Honor
