Happy New Year everyone! December was a slow month, but now that we're coming into January lets get back into the swing! This week's challenge is "Three Nouns", where three unrelated nouns are presented (two concrete and one abstract) and its up to you to weave them all together. This challenge is to see how many ways people can interpret these words compared to others. Now on with the challenge! Your words are:
Ghost. Bed. Locket.
There is no limit on length but must be at least 250 words. Write from any format or POV of your choosing! This challenge will end January 16th at 11:59pm and will have an award of 200 sovereigns.

Sometimes Rosalie wondered why the locket had been so important. It was simple, and it was not any sort of alloy, very frail and made of wood. The carvings were detailed, yet you could only really tell they were there if you rand your hands along the edges. It had been around for years, something her mother had told her to keep safe, cherish. But there was nothing in it. Her mother once told her when she was little they’d put little notes within, something that meant something to them, she wondered if that was why it was empty, if she was supposed to put something within that meant something to her.
The bed was more of a cot, but Rosalie had a hard time complaining about the arrangements her sister managed to make for them. Mia worked harder than she should have to, and though Rosalie tried to help when she could, with her lungs in their delicate condition, she couldn’t really do much. But she regretted it sometimes, putting all the hard work on her sister and Branson. But Mia never wanted to risk her magic surging when she wasn’t there to help. Rosalie’s being a mage made it hard on everyone. They got by, but it wasn’t easy.
And it was nights like this, long after Mia and Branson had fallen asleep that Rosalie would gingerly run a finger over the edge of the locket. What could she put inside of it? What meant something to her? She sat up in the makeshift bed, moving to the desk that sat at the edge of the room. There was little paper to be found, but Rosalie located it quickly in the dim light, penning something on it with ink before gently tearing the paper apart.
“Family.” She repeated what was on the paper as she placed it within the locket. Yes, that was what was most important to her now. Finding Cullen so all their siblings would be together again, as was right. She felt a slight breeze in the room, strange since the window wasn’t open as she closed the locket slowly. Looking around, for just a moment she thought she saw the pale figure of her mother within the soft light, smiling, but whatever it had been disappeared.
But somehow for that brief moment, her worries were stilled and her goal was in a clearer focus.
